About Us
Indigie Resource Group is a 100% Australian owned and Indigenous operated Civil Contracting Company. Indigie Resource Group is the creation of Travis Thompson, a proud Wardandi Noongar man from the South-West Region of Western Australia.
Travis Thompson, with over two decades of experience in civil construction and after running a successful construction labour hire company for several years under the title Indigie Group, keenly observed a significant disparity in opportunities for Aboriginal candidates and individuals from diverse backgrounds to gain access to and establish themselves within the civil construction sector. Through his extensive career, Travis witnessed the industry's homogeneity, with a limited representation of underrepresented communities. This lack of diversity prevented talented individuals from diverse backgrounds from gaining valuable experience and breaking into the field. Recognising this systemic issue, Travis became a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion in civil construction, striving to create pathways and opportunities that empower Aboriginal candidates and individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute their skills and perspectives to the industry.
Based on his findings, Travis decided to strategically expand into Civil Contracting in 2021, this was the inception of Indigie Resource Group.
It is the vision of Indigie Resource Group to build strong partnerships within the Western Australia Civil & Mining Industry and provide integrated site civil, utilities and bulk earthwork support services. We pride ourselves on providing a pathway for Indigenous people to build long and prosperous careers in the construction industry through mentorship, training, and collaboration.”
